New Patient Centre for Park Road Healing Arts

If you’re visiting with us for the first time, we’d like you to know exactly what to expect. We want to provide you with a great experience, and will make sure that you feel welcome and supported every step of the way. When you call to make your first appointment, a second visit “report of findings” appointment will also be made at that time to ensure availability. We also ask that you download, print and complete your new patient paperwork before meeting with us.

Our chiropractic office has been described as “an oasis of relaxation, emotional nourishment and loving-kindness”–we hope you think so, too!

Your First Visit

Your first appointment will take between 45 and 60 minutes. When you arrive, you’ll be warmly greeted by our assistant, Shahreen Jahan, who will escort you to one of our comfortable practice rooms. Shahreen will then introduce you to Dr. Metz, who will conduct an in-depth consultation and health history to fully understand your concerns and collect all information pertinent to the state of your health.

You’ll then be asked to put on a gown, and Dr. Metz will conduct a functional evaluation and neurological examination to assess spinal mobility, including blocked areas of nerve transmission and restricted range of motion. Shahreen will be present for this part of your appointment to take notes. If we feel it necessary, we may also write a requisition at this time for full spinal X-rays.

Your Second Visit

This second visit will also take between 45 and 60 minutes. Dr. Metz will explain her findings from the initial consultation & examination and thoroughly review your x-ray results if x-rays were taken. Once she has answered all of your questions, customized care options will be discussed, and consideration given to a plan of management that will fit your needs.

Regular Visits

Regular visits are much shorter than your initial two appointments, and you can expect to be in the office for about 15 minutes. When you arrive for your adjustment, you’ll be asked to sign in and give us some brief feedback on the state of your progress. You’ll then be assigned a private room to relax in before your adjustment. Following your session with Dr. Metz, you’ll again be invited to relax for a few minutes before carrying on with your day.

Progress Exams

Progress exams will be scheduled every 18 – 24 visits. We’ll ask you to fill out some brief paperwork to assist us in determining your level of improvement, and some additional chiropractic and functional assessment testing will also take place. You can expect to be here for about 20 extra minutes on progress report days.

Will Insurance Cover My Care?

Your work benefits may pay for a portion of your care. It’s helpful to look at these limited benefits as a “coupon” toward your needs. Unfortunately, most workplace insurance does not cover all costs for care required to optimize your health and increase your function, and we’re fully aware of this deficiency. The good news is that we’re very transparent when it comes to financial concerns, and we’ll be very clear in helping you to understand all costs related to your care. We’re here to help!

Our chiropractic office is patient-centered and accommodating. Our staff is seasoned and professional and our practice members appreciate our attention to detail. We’d love to partner with you in helping you to feel great.
